  1. 1. Feed, water, clean litterbox, tidy the rest of the cage, and let them out for exercise daily.  Weekly, wash entire cage and bedding.

    2. ferretcentral.org

    3. Really only matters to you - the ferret won't care!

    4. Ferrets love the company and activity of playmates, but they are also very expensive animals so you should consider carefully whether you can afford the vet care and food for 2.

    5. Doesn't matter...males are usually slightly larger, sometimes a little more lazy but it varies a lot.

  2. 1) Ferret schedule?

ferrets schedule can change to suit you. they will need feeding in the morning and evening, water bottles checked, litter boxes changed. at some point during the day your ferret will need some out of cage time roughly around 2-3hours a day. once a week you should wash bedding and clean cage this will help reduce your ferrets smell greatly.

    2) Websites?

    www.ferretcare.org

also the 'ferrets for dummies' book is brilliant and will improve your ferret knowledge.

    3) Ferret names?

    weasel, bandit

go onto this website for ferret names - weaselwords.com

    4) 1 or 2 ferrets?

this all depends on how much time and attention you can give, if you will be able to provide lots of out of cage time and stimulation for your ferret then one ferret will be fine. if not then two would be fine they will be able to play and keep eachother entertained whilst you are not there ferrets also love other ferrets company.

    5) Boy or girl?

as you are going to be a first time ferret owner then maybe a boy would be right for you, once they get a bit older they tend to be alot calmer and laid back. girls on the other hand tend to be more wild and crazy, although both are very playful and this is not the case for all ferrets.

good luck in getting a ferret, all i can say is do loads of research so you know what your getting yourself into, ferrets can be great pets but you only get back what you put into them.

  3. i love ferrets,

    1. well of course you gonna need to check on there food and water, play with them everyday, there is more to it than that but check wikipedia

    2. try typing "ferrets" into wikipedia they'll tell you everything you need to know!

    3. snowball if its a white ferret, mind is blank cant think of anymore

    4. getting 2 ferrets is better because than they will have someone to play with when your not playing with them, but make sure they get along before you stick them in the same cage!

    5. not sure about that

  4. 1. Feed and water them. LET THEM PLAY

    2. Books are better than websites in my opinion

    3. Too many to name

    4. I prefer 2 since they play more and are humorous to watch

    5. I prefer males.  Sometimes the females get moody

  5. SOMEONE ANSWER! I want to know the same thing. I went to Petco the other day and want one. I would suggest a ferrets for dummies book and spend time in the store with the ones you want to get and talk to the people that work there about the ones that seem to have the best personality. They are supposed to be little balls of energy but can be litter box trained I am told! 2 might be better so they can play...they are social. I would probably get 2 boys, but that is just me. Be careful about mixing the sexes

  6. 1.    A ferrets schedule really depends on yours. Ferrets sleep for 18-20 hours out of the day. So they need 4 hours of playtime. (this mean out of the cage running around in a ferret proofed room/area). Food and water should be kept available at ALL times! You also much clean cage/litter boxes every day.

    2.    Good websites is a very good questions. I suggest

       http://www.ferretuniverse.com/

           http://www.ferretcentral.org/

    And mainly

       http://www.everythingfert.proboards36.co...

This site is actually a forum that you can go on and ask questions. Read up on personal experiences that ferret owners have and much more. I am a member and get on every day. Everyone on there is super helpful.

    3.    Good ferret names really depends on stuff you like. I have 8 and I can give you the names I have....Bella, Romeo, Daisy, Roxy, Hammie, Pedro, Cookie and Cream.

    4.    2 ferrets are always better than one, (Depending on if you have a ferret friendly ferret) because when you are not home or unable to play with your ferret while out during playtime he/she has someone. Ferrets bond very well with other ferrets and once bonded, separating them can cause death. They will become heartbroken. So it’s important if you get two they stay together their whole lives. Also ferrets love to snuggle with one another.

    5.     It doesn’t really matter what you get. Girls and boys are pretty much the same. I don’t see anything different in them other then their own personalities.

EDIT: I forgot to add how much they are…If you buy a ferret they could range from $75 to $150 in stores. Breeders have much higher prices. And if you rescue that depends on them so I wouldn’t know. A proper cage is $100 or more. To start off with everything you need I would make sure you have a good $200-$300 for food, bedding (blankets hammocks, ect.), litter, food bowls, water bowls/bottles, litter boxes, toys, nail clippers, ear cleaner, shampoo, and books to keep reading up on them.

But a month to month shouldn’t be more then $50.
