  1. Yes. A male ferret not neutered is really gross when he goes into season. He will rub his pee on himself to make himself attractive to the ladies. And non descented ferrets smell bad.

A female ferret will die if she is not bred when she goes into season from anemia. So she needs to be fixed

There are quite a few of breeders in the US that sell un altered ferrets

  2. Depends on where you live. And where you have got your ferret from.

Out of the US most owners get unaltered ferrets. But in the US most come altered. (b/c so many buy from Marshall)

It is best to get a ferret fixed b/c they are temperamental when not. Males can become aggressive. You should really talk to a Vet about this. Its mainly up to you weather you want to or not.

(Just remember if you don't and you have a male and female they will have babies and it can add up almost as fast a rabbits.)

  3. Where do you live and where did you get him?

If you live in the USA, chances are your ferret is already neutered. It's almost impossible to get un-fixed ferrets in the USA.

But if he isn't, you don't HAVE to get him neutered. Male ferrets can be kind of gross, like unfixed dogs. They can me meaner than fixed ferrets and they can spray and be really stinky, but not always. If you do need to get him fixed, you will need to find an Exotics vet.

If your ferret is an unfixed female, you HAVE to get her fixed.
