  1. Ferrets are fun, but a LOT of work. Their litter needs to be cleaned every day as well as their food and water changed. They smell bad and even when litter trained have accidents. It is recommended that they are brought out of their cage to play and run around at least 2 hours per day. You should have 2 ferrets if you do not have them out playing with you around 6 hours per day otherwise they will get lonely and depressed. (Oh, and don't forget to ferret-proof their out of cage play area!) You will also need to make sure your vet is ferret friendly. I have a 4 story cage with ramps. This is a very popular set-up. Ferrets are expensive and stinky, but can be fun with patience. If you are getting some ferrets I recommend going to the library and at least spot reading "ferrets for dummies" as it has a TON of helpful info.

  2. 1. no

    2. no

    3. yes (i have 2 in this one)

    4. might be but lets say no

    5. yes

    6. yes

you would only need 1 cage for 2 of them... they are social animals and should be kept together. they are easier to train when younger but it is still possible when older. when they are young you have to teach them not to bite and litter train them.

you should get 2 minimum to start. if you aren't home during the day they can keep each other company.

if you need anything else ask me

EDIT: Yes make sure they have a play pen, also make sure they are fixed so they do not breed if you get a male or female.

  3. A Ferret Nation cage is a great cage to get, well made, very easy to clean - well worth the money.

If you don't have a lot of time to spend with the ferret then it would be good to get two.  They can keep each other company.

A "ferret" playpen is good to have, some ferrets can get out of them though.

A good website is everythingferret.com (the boards), they have all kinds of info and lots of pics in the photo gallery.
