So.. i have a ferrit..had her since she was a baby. shes about 8months old(roxi)....today i bought another one.. a cocoa colored one bout a month old(coco)..and.. i dont think roxi rly enjoys coco being in "her" house..i mean.. shes not mean to coco or anything*YET*. but she doesnt rly like her?.. like if coco is eating roxi doesnt. and she looked lil ticked off when coco went to sleep in her bed ..and she tries to avoid being by her.... is this normal for a ferrit to act like this? will she eventually grow out of it.. and she wont hurt coco will she?

me mom says shes just jealous.. maybe thats it?

also.. coco bites rly hard.. is there anyway i can stop her from doing that? tried the tapping on nose thing.. doesnt rly work..

  1. Just give Roxi a lot of extra time to let her know you still love her, and i would take things slow with them, if they are just thrown into a cage together with no proper introduction, they could fight severly. Watch them very closely, maybe put them together in the day and in seperate cages at night.

    Btw, it's ferret not ferrit!

there is everyhitng about bighting here i decided it was toolong to copy the all important bits

  3. To the biting thing, try flicking her lightly instead of tapping (not too hard, but so she knows shes done wrong) you have to make sure she knows that its bad. treat her when she does the right thing. as for the jealousy thing, i thing it probably IS jealousy. maybe you should give roxi a lot of attention. its like dogs and puppys. if you have a scruufy dog for a long time and its used to being cuddled, and then you get a new puppy, everyone will want to see the puppy, because its cuter , softer, whatever. make sure roxi has a lot of attention. shes older so she'll want to be top dog (or top ferrit). she shouldnt hurt coco but if she does make sure you stop it and tell her off. it might not even be her fault, coco mite have provoked it. if she still doesnt like coco, try getting 2 beds and 2 feeding bowls, if they come good friends they will sleep in the same bed, but if coco warms up to roxi too soon, roxi can always move to a different bed. i hope i helped (if you bothered to read this ;) )
