Ferry from Calais to Dover. Can you just turn up and buy a ticket to cross or do you have to pre book?

l'd be careful this time of year as the ferries are extremely busy with coaches full of school kids and holiday makers, l would personally phone to pre book to make sure of your ticket to travel, rather 20p than be disappointed on the day

i work on the ferries, you can turn up and buy ticket any time, no waiting,

This ferry runs continuously, so you can just buy a ticket for the next available one upon your arrival. At least it was that way when I was there a few years ago.....
