Did anybody have experience sailing from Cuba to Mexico (illegally)? Where's the best place to hire the boat?

  1. Don't jump into this adventure.

There are no official ferries between Cancun and Havana.

No one will rent his boat oneway, you have to buy it and it's very risky lots of people didn't survive the trip There are frequent controls of the Cuban , Mexican and US coastguards. There 's a hunt for people and drugs smugglers.

  2. Since many Cubans try to cross the straights to Florida, the Cuban coast-guard watches out for illegal departures and tries to stop them.

Their counterparts in the US and Mexico don't welcome illegal visitors, either.

  3. There arent No official ferries from La Habana to Cancun

You could fly for about 220 dollars one way/330 RT

with Cubana airlines or Mexicana airlines Nonstop daily

You could also try your luck at the Marina Hemmingway.Lots of yaghts and boats hangout there and if you ask you might find someone going your way.

As far as fast human smuggling go..those can be pricey 10K or more

    Good luck
