Is there a way cheaper than flying to get from the US to Europe?

Maybe a ferry or something?

I dont really care where in Europe.

  1. Flying is definitely cheaper than a boat.  If you want to get the absolute cheapest fares, London will likely be your best bet -- extra bonus cheapness if you can leave from a major east coast city like New York.  Also, try different times of year to see when they are the least busy, summer will likely be the high season, so try winter or spring.  London is very expensive, but once you get to England you can then take a ferry to mainland Europe, where things are cheaper.  

    Don't forget that you'll also need a passport.

  2. No ferries, but cruise ships go to Europe.  The cheepest way to get there is flying, taking a ship is very expensive.
