My brother and sister-in-law haven't been doing anything to prevent getting pregnant for the last 5 years. They really can't afford to go to a fertility clinic. I saw someone on here that there is a pill a OBGYN can perscribe to help boost your fertility. Has anyone heard of this and if so whats the pill called? I get pregnant without even trying so its hard for me to give her advice on what to do.

  1. Well it depends on her situation. She could have blocked fallopian tubes, cause her to not become prego, that would need certain test to find out. She also could not be ovulatating, or not ovulationg enough, which needs a drug called Clomid, or it could have to due with her husbands sperm, she needs to look around to local clinics that help people without insurance, and start getting tested.

  2. I know it can be hard, but the best thing you can tell them is that God knows when they will be ready. My husband and I have not been able to get pregnant in  years, so when I started to go to the doctor they recommended Clomid. But, because I have PCOS, it didn't work so they put me in Femara. Maybe they can go to the fertility clinic and set up a payment plan to try treatments or sonograms. Good Luck to your brother and sister-in-law.

  3. There is not such thing as a "fertility" pill.

However, there are numerous medications that can help with particular fertility issues.

For example, if the sister-in-law is having trouble ovulating, then clomid might be prescribed.  But is her luteal phase is too short, or if her luteal phase doesn't produce enough progesterone to sustain a pregnancy, she would be prescribed progesteron supplements.  But is HE has poor sperm quality/count, nothing you give her is going to help HIM.

Bottom line, they really need to see a fertility specialist.  They are called Reproductive Endocrinologists.  If she can go to an OBGYN, then she shouldn't have a problem going to an RE.  If it's a situation where insurance requires she be referred to a specialist 1st, 5 years of unprotected s*x with no pregnancy is MORE than enough of a symptom to get the needed referral.

  4. well they could take chaseberry but it isnt proven just had alot of success stories and that can be gotten at any viamin store
