I asked a question earlier about side effects from taking fertility meds. I didnt get many answers. But now my question is how effective are fertility meds? How long does it take the doc. to find out if you are ovulating or not. I go in at the end of Aug. to start my first round. And also i already have one child. but he is 4 years old.

  1. Ever watch "John and Kate + 8" ? They used fertility drugs and ended up giving birth to 6 kids.

  2. I went in and he asked for a 21 day progesterone blood test.  It came back as ovulating at 3.  I believe he said I needed to be at 6 to ovulate.  I cant remember, its been 10 years since then, but anyway, he gave me Chlomid and redid the test and it was 36.9.  Talk about ovulating, huh? Well the first month was not a lucky month so we took them again and concieved.  However, at 10 weeks I miscarried because my progesterone levels dropped again.  I never wanted to take the Chlomid again because it only boosts the levels for a short time and then they drop again and I didnt want to suffer another miscarriage.  A year later I conceived on my own and had a healthy baby girl and now have 3 kids all naturally conceived.

By the way those pills cost me 6.00 per pill and you took 5 a month adn most insurance didnt cover it and that was ten years ago they may be more now.

    Just an FYI!! Good Luck
