Anyone have thyroid problems and trying to conceive? I got my thyroid under control 2 yrs ago and got pg a few months later (but it didn't last). Now I'm 40 and running out of time!!! My thyroid has gone up & down the last two yrs. Anyone go through this? I was told I have Hashimoto's which I guess means your thyroid can go cuckoo often :c( I am now hyper and going back down in my levothyroxine dose.

I'm wondering if I should try Armour or Cytomel or ??

  1. I'm going through this. I'm 24 years old though! My MD says that if you've got a doctor who's aware of your conditions and also your hormone levels, conceiving with a thyroid problem isn't hard.

She stressed that weight can be an issue when TTC and thyroid problems. The thyroid enhances the weight issue when TTC,as your weight is harder to maintain.

I'm dealing with this hardcore these past 5 months. My blood work is normal but i've gained 40 pounds in 6 months. I feel as if something is wrong, but they only go off blood work and will not change my synthyroid dosage.

Your currently taking the generic version of Synthyroid. Keep taking that. But this shouldn't be the sole cause of infertility if you MD is aware your TTC.

You can always see an endocrinologist. If my insurance allowed me to, i'd be there in a heart beat! Gotta love America's health care system!
