Hi have just bought a bestman 500 which can be used from 10wks and I am 10+4. Now I KNOW the heartbeat can be hidden and I KNOW we may not pick it up till wk 12 but Id like to know where is the best position to pick the heartbeat up??

Apparently its lower than you`d think?? Is it the pubic bone or just below bellybutton?? Is it usually central?? Thank you in advance :-)

  1. Yes its right down there by the pubic bone, and don't get upset if you cant find it yet. We couldn't hear our little one until I was 14 weeks pregnant which was very worrying to me, but turns out its perfectly normal! Good luck with your pregnancy and I hope you get to hear your little one soon.

  2. Its usually around 12 weeks before you can even hear the heartbeat at the doctor, and the uterus is probably still down in the pelvis. It won't be long and you will be able to hear it.

  3. Yeah I was at 10 1/2 weeks and it was too early to hear mine as well. Wait another couple weeks.

  4. As close to the pubic bone as possible. Don't be discouraged if you can't find it. My little guy stayed low and liked to hide until about 16 weeks. It would take the doctors forever to find his heartbeat.

    Have fun with that doppler!
