Feungirola in 7 weeks?

would 900 pounds be enough for myself and husband going self catering but eat out alot dont drink a lot, any general prices thank you.

How long are you going for, Lynn?  A month.  Seriously, my wife and I had 4 x 1 week holidays in Benalmadena last year and, disregarding the accommodation costs (all very reasonable), I doubt whether we spent £900 in total.  We also go self catering but eat out ALL the time.  

Assuming you have already paid for your accommodation, your £900 (for a 2 week stay) breaks down to £64 or 80 euros per day (to keep things simple I've used the conversion of 1 euro = 0.80GBP).   You will be able to get a good breakfast and a 3 course evening meal (with wine) for about 26 euros total.   You say you don't drink much but, even so, drinks are very reasonable and a pint of lager can be found for 1.20 euro upwards.   Transport in this part of Spain is excellent and, unless you wish to go inland off the beaten track, you will find that most places can be reached by bus or train, both of which are cheap.    Most local fares on the frequent buses are just over 1 euro, and the train which runs between Malaga and Fuengirola is no more expensive that the buses.  From Fuengirola you can also reach Gibraltar by bus.   Tivoli World & the cable car which takes you to the top of the mountain (not to be missed) are reached by train from Fuengirola to Arroyo de la Miel, a few stops away.

On arrival at Malaga, assuming you don't have a hire car, you can catch a train from the airport to Fuengirola, for about 1.40 euro each.  The train runs at 14 mins and 44 mins past the hour and takes about 30 mins.  Alternatively a taxi, outside of arrivals, will cost about 25 euros.  If you take a taxi, you can check the price, on the wall to your right as you leave the arrival hall.

So, yes, I think you'll find your money will go much further than you anticipate and you should have enough left over to buy lots to bring home ( shoes, handbags, spirits, cigarettes? etc.)  But watch the excess weight.
