Question:

Fever, cough, and chest congestion. what do i have?

About 3 days ago i started getting a little cough and it was really annoying. the 2nd day i had HORRIBLE chest congestion, and i kept hacking up a bunch of c**p. A few hours later, i started burning up and now i have a horrible fever. I'm taking robitussin cough and chest congestion. its helping a little bit. I cant take this chest congestion and im about to freak out. I did not go to the doctor yet, should i? And what do you guys think i have? PLEASE HELP =[

  1. I have the same thing!! I went to the doc.. and they said I have pharyngitis.. Unfortunately there is no treatment and you have to wait for it to go away on it's own..


  2. Uhh well ... I'm not a doctor, but I could offer a few guesses ...

    If you've got body-aches and pains and generally feel like c**p, along with your respiratory symptoms and fever, it could be the flu.

    But I doubt it.

    More likely, it could be bronchitis.  If it is, you'll need an antibiotic.  So yeah ... off to the doctor!

    Bronchitis, left untreated, can turn into pneumonia ... you don't want THAT!
