Few Question On Baby Ratties?

I just go 2 baby rats they are 1 month old, both girls:

my questions are can you use pine shavings in thier cage & are sunflower seeds ok for them as a treat?

Any other info would be welcome thank you for answering my questions.

I dont know totally but until i knew i would not do any of those things.  find out i fthey can then it will b easier for u

First question, NO. Pine and cedar are softwood shavings and contain phenols that damage the respiratory system and liver. If you want to use a wood shaving bedding, use aspen which is a hardwood and lacks the dangerous phenols.

Sunflower seeds are fine and even healthy as long as they are kept as an occasional thing/treat.
