  1. Hi! I've been 3 times!

Food and drink is reasonably priced

There are the pretty much the same amount of vegetarian options as you would find in the UK..unless you live in a big city with lots of vegetarian restaurants

It is safe to have ice in drinks

It's not much of a problem if you only speak English because Croats tend to know several languages...and English is one of the most popular. I have certainly had no problems!

Nice place - I especially like Dubrovnik and the islands like hvar, brac, korcula - but most areas are very nice!

  2. well when i compare it to Canada the food and drinks are really cheap and there is much begetarian options available.  ya it's safe to have ice in drinks but if the place is nasty then don't take it with ice.  U can see when u walk in a cafe or bar.  Ya it's a problem if u speak only english cuz most of the people know only one language which is Serbo-Croatian.  But it also depends where u go.  If u go on a sea side then it won't be big problem cuz there r many tourists coming and people mostly speak english, but if u go to eastern places then it is a problem.

    Good luck!!!!!!!!

  3. 1)  Food and drink are moderate - less than western Europe, and much less in non-touristy areas away from the Croatian coast.

    2)  Salads, pasta, and other non-meat foods (like pastries or bread & cheese) are available everywhere.  I don't think there are many menu options that are deliberately "vegetarian".

    3)  Yes.

    4)  No. English is widely spoken, and Croatia mostly uses the Roman (rather than the Cyrillic) alphabet.

Hope you have a great time!

  4. Only blueberry cheescake can ask these questions. Croatia is in Europe and Europe is a civilized part of the world. Yes, food and drink is cheap if you don't come there with USD. It would have been much cheaper 1-2 years ago. Plitvice Lakes and its waterfalls are worth every penny to be seen. It's the most beautiful part of the world. And yes, hotels have bathrooms, just in case you wonder. If people don't understand English use your hands and gestures.

    Have a wonderful trip.

  5. I was there 20 years ago and a lot of people (in the larger towns and cities) spoke English, enough so you can get served in shops at least. But I can't really comment on your other concerns because, as I said, I was there 20 years ago and I'm not a vegetarian.

  6. 1) Yes. ( It depends in which city you go, but in most are cheap)

    2) O yea. Definitely!

    3) Yess...

    4) Noo. We know English very well.

p.s. I am from Croatia. And thrust me, you'll have a great time...
