having a laptop as opposed to a home PC? Why or why not? I currently have a home PC, but we are moving soon, and I was wondering if it's more environmentally friendly to invest in a laptop. I have never owned a laptop. How are documents printed when you own one?

  1. It is far more environmentally friendly to have a laptop for a few reasons....

1 it is smaller and uses less energy altogether

2 even when you turn off your PC.....unless you unplug it from the outlet.....it still uses some energy......whereas when you turn off your laptop.....you will likely unplug it also.....so no energy will be wasted.

3 also...think of the materials that go into owning a PC versus a laptop......there is far less waste in a laptop.

as for printing......you can buy printers for your laptop....it works just like the one on your PC...same as any other accessories (speakers, photo printers etc)......if you don't do alot of printing though....you can just save stuff onto a flashdrive and then print it at the library.

    Thanks for being environmentally conscious!

    Good luck!
