Feyenoord Rotterdam’s Leroy Fer still wants a move away from his club – Dutch Eredivisie news
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leroy-Fer-c22126 agent, Rob Jansen, has revealed that his client still desires to leave Feyenoord Rotterdam in the ongoing summer transfer market for a new challenge next season. Jansen made it clear that his client’s wish for a move away from the De Kuip Stadion
has nothing to do with the resignation of Mario Been, who stepped down from the Stadiumclub’s managerial hot seat earlier this week.
The Rotterdam giants have remained busy for a long time in order to renew the midfielder’s current contract, which is due to expire in the summer of 2012. However, the Stadiumclub management has so far failed in persuading the youngster to prolong his stay
at Feijenoord Stadion.
The starlet’s agent has clearly indicated that Fer would like to take the next step in his career and Been’s decision to quit as the head coach has not changed his client’s mind.
“Leroy’s desire not to renew his current contract has nothing to do with the trainer. All the stories that say otherwise are http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Total-c40747 nonsense. Leroy just wants to take the next step. And his eyes are still focused on Twente. It is up to the clubs to decide.
Twente thinks they will succeed and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 thinks otherwise. We can do nothing else but to wait”, Jansen said while talking to the media.
After spending almost eight years at the Rotterdam giants’ youth academy, the 21-year-old started his professional career at De Kuip Stadion in the 2007/08 season. Since making his debut in December 2007, the midfielder has so far netted 13 times in 109
appearances while also bagging a hatful of assists.
The midfielder’s good performances gained interest from a host of European clubs, but http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233 remained the favourites to land his signature in the ongoing summer transfer market. Martin van Geel, Feyenoord technical director, has so far showed reluctance
in letting go of their prized asset.
However, with Fer unwilling to prolong his stay at De Kuip Stadion, the Stadiumclub management should consider selling the 21-year-old in the ongoing summer transfer market rather than letting him go on a free transfer next year.
