http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ron-Vlaar-c31697 and Ryo Miyaichi doubtful to play against VVV-Venlo: Eredivisie News
Feyenoord Rotterdam's two star players, Ron Vlaar and Ryo Miyaichi, are doubtful to play in their upcoming clash against the relegation contenders VVV-Venlo at De Koel Stadion on Sunday, May 8.
Reports from the Feijenoord confirmed that De Stadionclub’s versatile defender Vlaar and the prolific winger Miyaichi missed the Friday’s training session with the team. Vlaar received a calf injury in their 3-1 win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven last week and Miyaichi
was ill and stayed home for rest.
Mario Been, the Stadiumclub's manager, is still doubtful that whether the duo would be available for selection in their upcoming fixture against VVV.
Been said, “We hope that both are fit to train tomorrow. With Ron going in the right direction, how Ryo goes, we have to wait.”
The outfit from Rotterdam are currently placed tenth in the league table, battling for the UEFA Europa League play-offs berth. They trail the last Europe’s secondary club competition play-offs berth by a solitary point. With six points left to grab in the
season, the Rotterdam outfit have every right to remain optimistic to play in the European competition next season.
Been’s men have yet to play VVV and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/NEC-c40018 Nijmegen in their remaining encounters. They have to secure maximum points in both of the matches if they want to play in the Europa League next term.
De Stadionclub also received some morale-boosting news, as their winger Sekou Cisse trained with the team for the first time after almost eight-month injury lay-off. The Ivory Coast international is on his way back in the squad after a lingering foot injury.
Been added, “Sekou currently has no problems, he's about to be realized. But for now he will not play matches.”
It seems like that the tactician is in no mood to rush the player back from injury. Moreover, the Ivory Coast international has only played a single game this season and that was way back in September 2010, meaning that the winger will not be in his best
of form certainly. With only two matches to play and De Stadionclub looking for a Europa League play-offs berth, Been’s decision is surely applausible.
