Feyenoord Rotterdam’s Stefan de Vrij receives contract extension – Dutch Eredivisie news
Feyenoord Rotterdam’s versatile defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stefan-de-Vrij-c33987, has impressed everyone with his superb performances in De Stadionclub’s back-line this season. The 19-year-old’s contract was set to expire in the summer of 2012, and De Stadionclub management were
quick to offer him an improved contract that would run until the summer of 2014.
The 19-year-old sensation is the first player to receive a contract extension this season and has expressed his delight after signing his new contract.
De Vrij said, “I am very glad we came out and that I can stay here. I always said I would prefer to stay and I am glad it happened.”
The outfit from Rotterdam has many young players whose contracts are going to expire next season. Moreover, a host of European clubs are interested in signing the young talented players from De Stadionclub. However, De Vrij has extended his stay with the
Rotterdam-based outfit without any hesitation.

De Vrij added, “I also hope they bite badges, but they are smart enough to invent what is best. It was definitely an honour for me to remain at Feyenoord and become one of the key players in the future. It expresses appreciation and gives confidence.”
The 19-year-old centre-back is a product of the Rotterdam outfit’s youth academy. He started his professional career in the 2009/10 season and has represented De Stadionclub in 38 matches. His performances have attracted interest from a host of top European
