The Manchester City striker’s agent claims that his client could return to the Eredivisie outfit, but the Rotterdammers technical director admits that his side is not assuming the youngster’s return as realistic.
Manchester City striker, John Guidetti, spent the 2011/12 campaign on loan at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 Rotterdam. The 20-year-old netted 20 goals while setting up plenty more in 23 league matches to help the Rotterdammers finish second on the
Eredivisie table.
His impressive showings while donning the jersey of the Rotterdam giants convinced the Citizens management to offer him a new deal that will prolong his stay at Etihad Stadium at least for another couple of years.
However, it seems unlikely that the youngster will be enjoying any playing time in a star studded Manchester City's side that includes Eden Dzeko, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Tevez, and another loan spell to enjoy
regular first-team action seems to be on the cards.
The Swedish hit-man’s agent, Per Jonsson, has admitted that his client enjoyed loan spell at De Kuip Stadion, but has insisted that the striker will consider all his options.
“John liked his stay at Feyenoord and enjoyed putting in strong performances for them. Joining them again is definitely an option, but there are more possibilities, we are going to explore all options without rushing and we will
surely come to a decision before the transfer window ends at the end of the month”, Jonsson was quoted as saying to journalists.
However, the Rotterdammers technical director, Martin van Geel, has not expressed optimism over the talented Swedish talisman’s return to De Kuip Stadion before the ongoing summer transfer window slams shut.
“At the last moment, anything can happen but we are not assuming the return of John is realistic. We do not know what City want - and besides, he needs time to recover from his injury”, Van Geel said while talking to the media.
Reports in English and Swedish media indicate that a host of European clubs are taking keen interest in signing Guidetti, who has an ongoing contract at Etihad Stadium that runs until the end of the 2013/14 season.
