The former Barcelona player expressed frustration following his side’s 2-2 draw in the first-leg of Europa League play-offs round against Sparta Praha, while stressing that his troops staged a below par performance at home.
Feyenoord Rotterdam head coach, Ronald Koeman, was disappointed after his side’s 2-2 stalemate against Spart Praha in the first-leg of the UEFA Europa League play-offs round. The two sides met at De Kuip Stadion on Thursday, August 23.
The Rotterdammers were forced to continue their European voyage in Europe’s second tier competition after suffering defeat in the third qualifying round of UEFA Champions League at the hands of Dynamo Kyiv.
Following the 2-2 draw in the first-leg at home, the Stadiumclub have a slim chance of keeping their European hopes alive.
Koeman was extremely frustrated with his side’s display in front of their home crowd, and stressed that he has never seen such poor performance from the Rotterdam giants since taking over the managerial hot seat at De Kuip Stadion.

Miguel Nelom pulled one back in the 60th minute, while Anass Achahbar scored the equaliser minutes before the full time whistle to seal the game at 2-2.
Koeman admitted that his side staged sloppy football, but has expressed optimism that they could secure a win in the return leg.
“We were very messy in midfield, and lost the ball on too many occasions. But, we played amazingly after the break. The second-leg will not be an easy game for Praha. Nothing is yet decided, and any team can make progression”, the Dutch trainer concluded.
