The Rotterdammers secured a place at least in the UEFA Europa League following their 4-1 win over Heracles Almelo but the former Barcelona player now wants a Champions League ticket.

With only three points left to play for in the 2011/12 season, the Rotterdam giants are occupying the second spot on the league table, only a single point ahead of the third placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven.
Although a place in the Europe’s second tier competition seems certain, the Rotterdammers boss is now hoping that his side bags all three points in their final league encounter to seal their place in UEFA Champions League qualifying round.
“It is fantastic that we have achieved European football. Nobody expected this, I didn't. For this, the whole team deserves a big compliment. Second place would be lovely but the achievement of European football is worthy of congratulations”, Koeman was

After a poor 2010/11 season. where they eventually finished tenth in the league standings, nobody expected the Stadiumclub to finish in the top three Eredivisie sides this term.
The Rotterdammers have not tasted defeat in any of their last ten league encounters, winning eight while the remaining two ended in stalemates.
Koeman has admitted that his side has really grown as a team in the past few months and has insisted that had they found this run of form a little earlier, they might have landed the Eredivisie title.
