The 48-year-old tactician has agreed to sign a one-year contract extension that will see him at De Kuip Stadion until the end of the 2012/13 campaign.
Reports from De Kuip Stadion have confirmed that Ronald Koeman has agreed to a one-year contract extension with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 Rotterdam. His ongoing contract ran until the end of the 2011/12 campaign, but his new contract will keep him at De Kuip Stadion until
the summer of 2013.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar manager was appointed the head coach of the Rotterdammers in July 2011, following the departure of Mario Been. The vastly experienced tactician has done well since then and has led the Rotterdammers to fifth spot in the league table
by the end of the first-half of the season, seven points behind the Eredivisie table-toppers AZ Alkmaar. 
Martin van Geel, the Rotterdammers technical director, has expressed happiness after reaching an agreement with the Dutch trainer. He revealed that the team is performing highly under him and the club management is happy to prolong his stay.
“The conclusion after these first few months is that everything clicks on all fronts between Ronald and Feyenoord. We are doing good work and giving Feyenoord something to build on. The head coach is the key figure and continuity is important. We have definitely
remained within our financial limits. We have a deal everyone can be happy with”, Van Geel said while talking to journalists.
The Dutch mentor also expressed his happiness after signing a new contract and asserted that he is enjoying his stay in Rotterdam.
“I'm really enjoying myself at Feyenoord and am glad we have found agreement. We see a lot of opportunities to grow with this talented group”, Koeman was quoted as saying to the media.
The 48-year-old retired as a player at the end of the 1996/97 season and became the assistant manager of the Oranje during the 1998 FIFA World Cup. After his stint with the National side, he was appointed as the assistant coach at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
