The Rotterdammers technical director Martin van Geel has expressed interest in luring the 19-year-old striker to De Kuip Stadion this summer on loan.
Feyenoord Rotterdam have long been linked with Inter Milan young striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luc-Castaignos-c22500. Reports indicate that the Rotterdam giants have expressed keen interest in acquiring the services of the Dutchman on a season-long loan deal.
Martin van Geel, the Rotterdammers technical director, has confessed that his side will gladly lure the 19-year-old hit-man to De Kuip Stadion before the start of the 2012/13 campaign on loan, if the Nerazurri management let go
of the youngster.
“If http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 decide to send Luc on loan to a foreign club, we are interested. He fits perfectly with us, knows our culture and our style of play”, Van Geel was quoted as saying to the Dutch media.
Castaignos started his professional career at the Stadiumclub in the 2009/10 campaign. His rapid developments established him as one of the key players in the Rotterdammers squad.
The promising youngster represented the fallen Eredivisie giants in 37 Eredivisie games and found the back of the net 15 times, before joining the Serie A giants in the summer of 2011.
Since arriving at San Siro, the highly-talented young attacker has failed to cement his place in the starting eleven, and has only managed to feature in six Serie A matches.
Although, several European clubs including the Rotterdam giants were interested in luring the youngster away from San Siro in the January transfer window earlier this year, the lanky striker denied moving abroad.
However, reports suggest that Castaignos would be more than happy to move away from the Serie A giants this summer on a season-long loan deal to enjoy regular first-team football.
Van Geel, who was appointed as the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 technical director in August 2011, has made it clear that his side would love to acquire the young striker’s services.
“It would be nice for the club if Luc joins us, but for now, there is no clarity on the part of the clubs”, the Rotterdammers technical director concluded.
Castaignos has a contract at San Siro that runs until the summer of 2016.
