The Dutchman, who started his professional career at De Kuip Stadion in the 2005/06 season, joined the Madrid giants in the summer of 2007 after representing the Rotterdammers in 29 Eredivisie matches.
The promising versatile player, who can play at any position down the left side of the pitch, featured regularly for Los Blancos in his debut season at Santiago Bernabeu. However, due to various issues, the 25-year-old failed to

With his contract due to expire at Santiago Bernabeu in the summer of 2012, the highly-talented winger expressed his desire of making a return to De Kuip Stadion.
However, the Rotterdammers technical director, Martin van Geel, has made it clear that his side would not be tabling a bid to acquire the Dutch international’s services this summer due to his hefty wage demands.
“We still have room for a number nine and number ten. Then, it’s a full budget. Drenthe is a fantastic player and would certainly be a great addition to the squad, but there isn’t enough space left in the budget”, Van Geel was
quoted as saying to the Dutch media.
The Stadiumclub technical director went on to stress that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bruno-c8098 Martins Indi could very well become the new Drenthe.
“Drenthe might be extremely good down the left flank, but we have recently extended Martins Indi contract. We believe in him, and he can certainly become the new Drenthe”, Van Geel concluded.
The 20-year-old started his professional career at De Kuip Stadion in the summer of 2010, and has rapidly established himself as one of the key players in the Feyenoord squad.
His consistent performances convinced the club management to extend ties with the youngster at De Kuip Stadion until the summer of 2016.
