The Norwegian international will now continue his development in Eredivisie after signing a two-year deal with the Rotterdammers.
Reports from De Kuip Stadion confirm that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 Rotterdam have successfully acquired the services of Harmeet Singh from Valerenga Fotball on an undisclosed fee.
The Norwegian international has reportedly put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at De Kuip Stadion until the summer of 2014, though; the contract has a clause that can prolong his stay for further two years.
The 21-year-old, who came through the ranks of the Bohemians, started his professional career at Ullevaal Stadion in the 2007/08 season. The young midfielder made rapid developments to his game to become one of the key players
in the Valenga squad.
Singh represented Valerenga Fotball in 101 league matches, netting eight goals while providing a bagful of assists. His impressive performances attracted interest from the Rotterdam giants, who were in the market to sign a midfielder
following the departure of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Karim-El-Ahmadi-c20353 to Aston Villa.
Martin van Geel, the Rotterdammers technical director, was unhesitant while praising the talented youngster, and stressed that he will develop further under the tutelage of the Stadiumclub head coach, Ronald Koeman.
“He is a player with a lot of talent, who gets the opportunity with us to develop further. He is the type of player you can compare with Karim El Ahmadi [who has left to join Aston Villa FC]”, Van Geel was quoted as saying to the
club’s official website.
Singh has also expressed his joy after signing a contract at De Kuip Stadion, and has confessed that this move will prove to be a perfect step in his career.
“It feels very good to be a Feyenoord player, I needed this step in my career. Feyenoord is a big club where good players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 and Roy Makaay have played. I hope to help Feyenoord have just as a good
year as the last one. I look forward to playing in the Champions League, which will be a new experience for me”, the Norwegian international said while talking to journalists.
