Martin van Geel has confirmed the acquisition of the young striker and has revealed the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar youth player will prove to be a great asset for the Rotterdammers in the seasons to come.
Reports from De Kuip Stadion confirm that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 Rotterdam have acquired the services of SBV Excelsior forward, Mitchell te Vrede, on a free transfer despite having an ongoing contract at Stadion Woudestein that runs until the end of the 2012/13 campaign.
Te Vrede is a product of AZ Alkmaar’s youth academy, but started his professional career at Stadion Woudestein in the summer of 2011. He has thus far made 19 appearances for the outfit from Excelsior and netted two goals while setting up one more along the
way.
Although the youngster failed to score goals consistently, his movement upfront convinced the Rotterdammers management of his talent.
Feyenoord technical director, Martin van Geel, was all praise for the youngster and has insisted that he will certainly become a great asset for the Rotterdam giants in the future.
“Mitchell is a young striker with great potential. He is physically a strong striker, an all-rounder with essential pace. He is a promising youngster, and has shown he can score with ease. Our technical staff will be very happy to work with him, because
we think he has the potential to become one of the finest upcoming strikers. He has a perfect height, and we see him as a valuable addition to the selection”, Van Geel was quoted as saying to Voetbal International.
The 20-year-old has reportedly put pen to a contract that will keep him at De Kuip Stadion until the summer of 2014, with the club having the option to prolong his stay for another two seasons.
