On-loan Manchester City teenager has insisted that he does not want to sit on the bench at City of
Manchester Stadium and has asserted that he wants to enhance his skills further before returning.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 Rotterdam’s on-Loan Manchester City striker, John Guidetti, has insisted that he does not want to sit on the bench on his return to the parent club.
The Swedish teenager has been a revelation in Dutch Eredivisie since his arrival at De Kuip Stadion. Netting an impressive 18 goals and setting up five more in 19 appearances, the tall striker has helped his side to within five points of the league summit.
The Swedish ace has expressed his desire to play for the Sky Blues. However, with the likes of Edin Dzeko, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Tevez already plying their trade for the Citizens, it seems unlikely that the youngster will
manage to secure a spot in the starting line-up regularly for City.
“I don't know what Man City are thinking but I want to play football. If I can't play at Manchester City - I'm a young boy - then I'll have to play somewhere else. If I am going to be given a chance at City then I have to be on the same level as the other
boys”, Guidetti was quoted as saying to Daily Mail.
The technically gifted striker then went on to insist that he does not want to be a reserve player.
“I don't care about the money but in football it shows where you are. It says, 'This is how much we believe in giving you this chance'. And I want the chance. I don't want to be a reserve at City, I can't be”, Guidetti concluded.
The Rotterdam giants are currently occupying the fifth spot in the league table, and the Swede has played an integral role in his side’s impressive performances this season.
Reports indicate that the Rotterdammers management is looking to extend his current loan deal to prolong his stay at De Kuip Stadion. However, the Citizens have made it clear that they want the youngster to return to City of Manchester Stadium before the
start of the 2012/13 campaign.
