After finishing 16th on the English Premier League table in the 2011/12 season, the Villans are looking to add more depth to their midfield this summer, and see the former FC Twente midfielder as a perfect addition

Aston Villa, who finished 16th on the English Premier League table in the 2011/12 campaign, were looking to add a quality defender, and the club management see the Moroccan midfielder as a perfect addition to their squad.
The defensive midfielder, who started his professional career at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233 Enschede in the 2004/05 season, arrived at De Kuip Stadion in the summer of 2008 after making 89 Eredivisie appearances for the Enschede giants.
El Ahmadi, who has also represented http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Morocco-c2961 in 10 matches thus far, has been performing consistently for the Stadiumclub since arriving at the start of the 2008/09 season.
The Moroccan international represented the Rotterdam giants in approximately 100 league matches, and managed to add his name to the score-sheet on four occasions.
However, his impressive showings in the recently concluded 2011/12 season overshadow all of his earlier performances.
Although, the versatile midfielder netted only two goals while setting up four more in 31 Eredivisie fixtures, his presence at the centre of the park had a major influence in his side’s brilliant performances throughout the season.
He helped http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 in claiming the second spot on the league table, last season.
The defensive midfielder had an ongoing contract at De Kuip Stadion that ran until the summer of 2013. However, the club management reportedly wanted to sell the midfielder this summer to avoid losing him on a free at the end of
the 2012/13 campaign.
El Ahmadi would be keen to impress while donning the jersey of the Villans, and will look to cement his place in the starting line-up at the earliest.
