Feyenoord’s defender, Stefan de Vrij, has signed a new contract with the Eredivisie outfit, much to the delight of the Stadiumclub officials and the fans. The new three-year deal will keep the centre-back at Feijenoord Stadion until June 2014. The youngster
also expressed his delight over this new deal and vowed to perform much better from the upcoming 2011/12 season.
His performances at Feyenoord have already attracted a lot of interest from many other clubs this season. This matter was taken up by the club officials in a serious manner and offered him a renewed contract at the earliest in fear of losing the player.
He was thankful towards the club Director whom he reckoned did everything to make him into a perfect player. Vrij mentioned that he enjoyed playing alongside some big name players and therefore had no hesitation in penning down a new contract with the club.

He further added, "These people are very important to me. My parents are always behind me and have helped
me [make] the right decision. I am convinced that I've made the right choice by signing."
Feyenoord’s technical director, Martin van Geel, claimed that the Dutchman is one of the brightest talents in the country and has everyone with his displays. He believes that the youngster would prove a great asset for the club in the near future and was
delighted that the deal had taken place.

Vrij joined the Eredivisie outfit in 2009 after going through the club’s youth set-up and since then has managed 38 League appearances for the club. He has a solitary goal to show from those appearances. The youngster is yet to make his debut for the Dutch
