  1. If he utterly refuses, insist on a grunge or hillbilly wedding : You in flannel shirt and Daisy Dukes.

It would match his   hard headedness and absurdity over so small a matter.

Dammm straight, a Tux is somewhat uncomfortable, but what small sacrifice is it compared to the significance of the event?

If HE is to be comfortable for HIS convenience, should that not apply to all concerned?

  2. A suit would be the next best thing.

  3. Maybe a traditional suit and tie is more of his thing, or perhaps he could wear some nice slacks with a white dress shirt and a vest of some sort.

Perhaps he just doesn't like the whole bow-tie part of the tux, so just substituting that with a tie could work nicely.

  4. You will not let him wear jeans or khakis? What are you bitter about? And if the wedding is casual enough that he would feel comfortable in those, him wearing a tux would indeed be in appropriate.

He gets to pick what he wears, exactly as much as you get to pick what you wear.

  5. nice suit should be fine. Or a lot of men choose to wear black pants and a white button up Hawaiian or Mexican wedding shirt. They look very nice!

  6. I had a redneck wedding on a dock of a lake...blue jeans t-shirts, and cold beer....what more could you ask for?

  7. Tell him to grow up, man up and put on the tuxedo.  There really isn't another appropriate thing for him to wear.  Most men do not want to wear a tux but they suck it up and put it on when the occassion calls for it.  He is getting married and it is time for him to put childish things and thinking behind him and become an adult.  Men wear suits and when it is important they wear a tuxedo.  Boys wear jeans and sneakers and babies cannot tell when to wear what.  Which one is he?

  8. my fiance didn't want to either, so he wore beige pants and a black button up shirt and all the groomsmen wore beige pants and a white button up shirt.

  9. A suit and tie

  10. maybe he can wear dress pants, an a white button up shirt (not tucked in) n_n ♥ or maybe he jus doesnt liek the idea of a traditional tux, maybe he wud liek to wear all white an instead of a jacket wear an embroidered white vest!!

  11. A nice suit (like a double breasted suit) and tie will look just as nice as a tux. Very formal and sharp looking, and a nice alternative to the "traditional" tux.

    ♥ & *muahs*

  12. A suit and tie.

  13. Let him pick out a nice suit. navy blue or grey would be really nice. Just make sure that the groomsmen match (i.e. they don't get tuxes).

My fiance is wearing a really nice suit, and I'm happy we both wanted to go in that direction. He looks about 10 times better in it than in a tux, and he gets to wear it for the rest of his life. Now, if only I could wear my DRESS to special occasions for the rest of my life:)

  14. Is he Irish or Scottish?  A kilt would always be in order...didn't you always want to know what they wore beneath one? LOL

Won't a nice suit be in order?  Is it traditional?

If it were to be themed anything might go I suppose so long as you matched!

How about cowboy and cowgirl?  White go-go boots and a mini dress with a flowing  floor length veil....yeee haaaw!!! ;~)

Or Hawaiian...oh the accessories you can get for that one!

Seriously, you know it could be a lot less formal with the fellas wearing shirts and ties and coloured vests....whatever colour he prefers with the other fellas in different colours which matched the ladies.

There are so many suits to choose from you don't need a tux...frankly they are pretty stuffy.  Go to a good bridal place where they have a lot of selections re the suits and the shirts.  The cumberbun or whatever it's called is usually what gives it that formal touch but he may choose to wear a vest instead and lose the jacket at the reception.

I like the grooms vest in row four here of this lot of photos!

And just look at all the options for him here!!!

As you can see weddings can be kind of fun in the non-traditional style.
