Fiance in A-school in great lakes IL and we want to get married in a month?

ok im not sure of the whole liberty thing but i think they can only get off on the weekends?? please help me. is there anyway my fiance can get a day off during the week if asked for in advance so we can get married? were not having a wedding just married through the courts we want to do it ASAP so that by the time he gets stationed somewhere else in 3.5 months the paperwork will be through so me and our son can move away with him

  1. He should have sometime to call the JAG and see if they can do it on a weekend or get a Chaplin to do it, I'm almost positive they will accommodate you.


  2. Any of the Chaplains on the base should be able to assist the two of you.  He's NOT going to get a day off school, but I do believe arrangements could be made to get married on a weekend.


  3. The entire A school curriculum is scheduled far in advance and includes every day.  He would have some weekends free, but also have the duty some weekends.  If you just want the deed done, some marriage license bureaus are open nights and weekends and you can sure find some way.

  4. slim to none. he's there to learn his rating.    he doesn't get days off from class for any reason other than Medical.  

  5. I asked for a day off to get married when I was A-School, to they gave me a friday off and we got married that afternoon.  If I remember right it takes two to four weeks to get a marriage license in most states.  If he can't get a day off in A-School, you may have to wait until he's either on a ship or his next command.
