Fiance visa or Spouse visa?

Im american, he is pakistani. The lawyer said it is faster to do fiance visa, but I worry that we could get denied, like they will say its fraud, but if we get married, it will be more believable that were really in love. Problem is I would have to go to Pakistan to marry him n thats kinda impossible with these bad times there. Does anyone know if fiance visa sounds possible???
