Im building a foam core skimboard, and i had realized that the resin would melt the foam, so i did my first layer with epoxy. and not epoxy resin, so it took a LOT of time. Today i started my second layers. The bottom went great! The top....not so well. i have small melt spots around the edges and one in the middle. How much will this affect the strength of my board with 3 layers of glass on both sides? Please help, ive put alot of time into this to just let it go

  1. Fill the holes with body filler and apply a new layer of glass. Polyester fiberglass resin will melt styrofoam...epoxy resin will not. Epoxy resin is about 4-5 times stronger than polyester resin. The wieght is about the same for both..so why not do the filling and use Epoxy resin for the final coats...Epoxy is a very strong resin, nasty to work with, but it doesn't stick like polyester, and it doesn't burn your hands so badly if you get it on them.
