Fiberglass sub boxes

I wanted to make a Fuberglass box to hold 4 10 or 12'' speakers and a amp.

i was going make make the base,back, and both sides out of MDF, and then fiberglass the front/top.

all the supplies included (not counting tools) how much $$ would i be looking at?

  1. u will spend about $350.00 with wood, fleas, reson, cloth, bondo, an primer. you doint to make it level you should put it on a 45 to50  anigle


  2. Depending on if you find a discount on the MDF $200-300.

  3. try to save money on the fiberglass  resin by buying in large quantities, thats where most of your money is going. but 250 should do. buy the drop clothes , sticks, paint brushes at the discount store, those things dont need quality.

  4. If you were to do it yourself, it would be around $300. for the MDF, Fasteners, cloth, glass matte, glass fiber, resin and body filler.

    If you were to have it built by a professional, it could escalate to a thousand pretty fast.

    If you've never done work with fiberglass before. Do your homework. Get as mush info as you can. It's not that hard. Just make sure that you get a resin that gives you enough time to work the material. If it cures to fast, you won't have time to get the matte where you want it.
