Ficelle favourite for Bath Ales Gem Fillies´ Handicap
Ficelle has got a solid chance of winning the Bath Ales Gem Fillies´ Handicap at Bath in England on Friday, June 8, 2012. The winner of the class-5 event will walk away with a cash prize of £2,264.
The going will be good to soft in the 5 furlong 11 yard race, which is scheduled to start at 19:35 GMT, and a total of seven runners will be seen in action in it. Their names are as follows: Kyanight, Bogini, Ocean Myth, Ficelle, I See You, Hey Fiddle
Fiddle and Ring For Baileys.
Earlier, Kara’s Vision was also lined up to take part in the race, but she might miss out on action now. She was one of the least favourites to win today, as her record is not much impressive. She has entered three events until now, but never managed
to finish third even once.
Speed will play a crucial role in determining the winner of the race, as the distance to cover is short. This will certainly work in favour of Ficelle, who can be dominant in such conditions.
The three-year-old filly has entered seven races until now, winning one of them and finishing runner up on the same number of times. In addition to that, she has also secured the third spot once, which suggests that she is fully capable of fighting
at the front.
Importantly, the Ronald Harris’ trainee has been in good form over the past few events, thus the punters will be encouraged to place a lot of bets in her favour. She finished runner up in her most recent outing and gave a tough time to her opponents.
Ficelle will be ridden by Luke Morris, who is a decent jockey. He has won quite a few races at this level, but does not have an impressive strike rate at all, which shows that he is not consistent.
On the other hand, the bookies expect Kyanight to make a solid impression in the race, as she has got a decent record at this level. She has entered six events until now, winning one of them whereas finished runner up on the same number of times.
The three-year-old filly ended up second in her previous race, which shows that she has the momentum to challenge Ficelle today.
