  1. I think you americans should leave him alone, hes 82, ill, and has survived 638 of your assasination attempts

  2. I think he was an unfair leader of Cuba, who would not allow Cuba to have a truely democratic state, and wasen't concerned about the problems of his citizens. But I think he is demonized far to much in America, if you ask me. Although, I don't know much about him.

  3. I was hoping he'd die when he fell off that stage a while back. Think that sums it up fairly well.

They really should put him on a door, and push him out to sea near the Bermuda Triangle.

  4. He gave all the cubans bicycles so they could still go to work and around town when the American trade embargo resulted in them having no gasoline to run their cars and buses.

Its not as black and white as him being good or bad.

People hate him because he was a dictator who controlled everyone in Cuba...but even in their dictator state they had gardens to grow food, local markets to sell their livelihoods, a semblance of a healthcare system....

People should look past him simply being a dictator and see that he DID do good things for Cuba in light of America's trade embargo.

  5. evil dictator

  6. Probably the closest to a true Communist- not that it has ever really been tried any more than a true Democracy- Both were actually created to stifle the ambitions of the powerful who will forever seek to meet their own needs first. You see it in the animal kingdom as well and its' probably why wars will always be fought.

  7. I don't think he's nearly as bad as Republicans like to rant about...

He's not been the best on Human Rights at all times but he's certainly not been the worst...

Republicans just focus on him because they don't want anyone to start to think Socialism could ever work for a country...

They hate Canada and France for the same reasons... and when Push comes to shove, they throw England under the bus too...

  8. At one time he was a real feared leader by the USA, but now we have so many so much worse than he is. He's one of those pains in the side but he doesn't bother me. I didn't like him sending his convicts over here or making that little boy return to Cuba thanks to Clinton.

  9. A murderous communist thug who is basically a waste of human skin.

  10. He was some sort of nasty dictator - but I'd prefer him to Nixon.  I'm sure Fidel killed a LOT less people than Nixon.  I'd prefer him to our miserable Li'l Bush who presently infects the White House.  How many people has he killed?

The Cubans hurt our feelings when they kicked out our MAFIA - ain't that too bad??  And we refused to talk to them since.  We used the excuse that Fidel was a "brutal dictator", but in the meantime we went and built up a zero like Saddam Hussein so he could murder millions of people.

Funny situation - I think there's a lot we could learn from the Cubans in how to be citizens of this world except we're generally too arrogant to learn anything.
