The legendary Indian batsman, Sachin Tendulkar, scored a half-century in the series opener against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760, but failed to hit his 100th International ton – a moment the whole cricketing fraternity has eagerly been waiting for.
The second Test is set to be started on Monday, November 14, 2011, at Eden Gardens, and Tendulkar will certainly attempt to reach the three-figure-score and become the first player to smash a hundred centuries at the highest level of the game.

On the eve of the second Test, Edwards said that he will try everything to prevent the Little Master from completing the historic feat.
"I will do everything I can to see to it he doesn't get there (100 tons) against the Caribbeans. I would want him to score nought in the rest of the series," quipped Edwards who will be playing his 50th Test match at Kolkata.
The 29-year-old-Barbadian completed his 150-wicket mark in the longest version of the game by dismissing Tendulkar in the previous contest. With a fullish length delivery, Edwards trapped the great batsman in front of the wickets, showing him the way back
to the pavilion.
Talking about his 150th wicket in 5-day cricket, he rated Tendulkar as a "great player" and expressed enormous delight over claiming the 150-mark with the scalp of the legendary batsman.
"As a youngster, having watched him on television and coming to bowl against him now is a great achievement for me. And to have got him out as well [is an achievement]. We have to stop him from scoring runs against us," shared the right-arm speed merchant
who has picked up 11 five-wicket hauls so far in his Test career.
