Fidel Edwards and Doug Bollinger sign for Sydney Thunder – Cricket News Update
Sydney Thunder announced the signing of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adam-Griffith-c919 Bash Twenty20 League, on July 13, 2011.
They have also recruited Australian left-arm fast bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DE-Bollinger-c1348, in a double scoop to boost their opening attack for the inaugural tournament.
Thunder’s General Manager, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/John-Dyson-c67699, was thrilled to announce the capture of the star duo, who he believes will provide the best opening bowling combination for his side.
Regarding the two, he said, “Fidel has proven to be consistent wicket taker, especially in the last series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 and is coming off an excellent IPL series.”
Both pacemen have been in fine form recently. Fidel especially, has been exceptional since his return from a back injury, which kept him out of the side for nearly 2 years. He made his comeback in the recently concluded http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 series against India,
where he provided the heroics with both, bowl and bat, to help his side draw the third Test match.
More so, he looked sharp with the ball, running in at pace and generating deadly late swing. In the three test matches, he claimed 19 wickets at an impressive average of 20.
Bollinger has also been impressive in the fourth edition of the lucrative Indian Premier League, for the Chennai Super Kings franchise.
He was one of the top performers for his side and was the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Main-c73911 contributory with 17 wickets at an astonishing average of 19.35. He helped the Chennai based franchise win its second consecutive IPL title.
