Fidel Edwards happy to return to international cricket
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 fast bowler, Fidel Edwards, has said that he is very happy to be back in international cricket after suffering from a back injury and staying out of international cricket after a couple of years.
The fast bowler has been named in the 15-man squad for the Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 back in 2009. It is a great sign for Caribbean cricket, as Edwards is a genuine
match-winner and has the potential to change the course of a game in a short span of time.
Edwards said that he is very excited to be back in international cricket after a long exile. The fast bowler claimed he was completely fit now and can take part in Test cricket. Edwards also appreciated the efforts of his physiotherapist, who helped him
regain full fitness.
He said, "I'm very happy to be back. I spent a long time out but I've made a full recovery and my body is ready to play five-day cricket again. I did a lot of good work with my trainer and the physiotherapist in Barbados and they were tremendous help to
me during my comeback period”.
Edwards made his Test debut back in 2003 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 at home and since then he has taken 122 Test match wickets in 43 matches. He has also played 50 One Day Internationals (ODI) for his team, in which he has grabbed 60 scalps.
The 29-year old fast bowler said that he is looking forward to performing well against Pakistan, which is a strong team in international cricket. Edwards hopes that he can stay fit and play a part to help West Indies get back to the winning ways.
"I'm really looking ahead to what is upcoming. This series against Pakistan is a good place to start. I'm focused and I'm looking to stay fit and strong. I'm looking to get wickets and help the West Indies to success. There is a lot to play for and I'm looking
forward”, Edwards added.
