Field of 10 juvenile colts drawn for the Grade 2 Remsen Stakes
The Grade 2, $200,000 Remsen Stakes will be run over a distance of one and one eighth miles at Aqueduct race course on 26 November, 2011, and the grade 2 event has reeled in ten 2-year-old colts, who when combined lack experience but are loaded in terms
of pedigree.
The pedigree might help these juvenile colts go up to the distance of nine furlongs on the day and display their talents on the field.
The Grade 2 Remsen Stakes is the last major race for the 2-year-olds and, it holds the key for these colts as 3-year-olds, because to go two turns now and win it would certainly raise their value next year for bigger and tougher races.
The William H. Lawrence and Klaravich Stables owned 2-year-old colt Managed Account will be the only runner in the field with a stakes victory under his belt, and the Teresa Pompay trained Pennsylvania bred son of Malibu Moon, out of mare Catinca by Storm
Cat, Managed Account is coming off a win in the $75,000 Toccet Stakes at Aqueduct over at a mile on 6 November, 2011.
Over at Aqueduct’s dirt course, Managed Account managed to down Launch Commander and Night Maneuver, who finished second and third respectively while Managed Account swoop past his opponents to cover the distance in 1 minute and 35.70 seconds.
Another 2-year-old colt has a pedigree like no other on the field or the strongest on the field is the Graham Motion trained Stephanoatsee who managed to break his maiden in his second attempt at Laurel Park over a mile on 21 October, 2011 with the winning
time of 1 minute and 39.33 seconds.
The Kentucky bred Stephanoatsee is the son of the leading sire A.P. Indy, out of mare Oatsee by Unbridled. Stephanoatsee in his first attempt at the maiden finished second to winner Who Dat Boy.
Trainer Todd Pletcher is competing in the Remsen as well as he sends out the son of Pulpit, El Padrino who is coming off a win in the maiden special weight race at Belmont Park.
The other Todd Pletcher trainee is the son of Street Cry, Our Entourage who was fifth in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Futurity.
