Hi, this will be my first year homeschooling my 12 year old daughter. I would love to network with other families. I am also seeking ideas about field trips that I could do with her, alone or with other groups?

  1. By far the Creation Museum in Hebron.

    Also, the Bodies Exhibition at the Cincinnati Museum Center - and the entire museum center itself.

    *  Jungle Jim's

    *  IKEA

    *  Go to the Dayton area for the Wright Brothers stuff and the Air Force Museum

    * The NPS sites in the area:  http://www.nps.gov

  2. I have home schooled my daughter for three years; she is now in 9th grade. I found this article very helpful for some good, cost-effective ideas  http://www.associatedcontent.com/article...

    This woman has other nice home school articles as well. Enjoy your home schooling!

  3. I hope you have a great year!  We are on our 2nd year with a 12, 10, 7 and 5 yo.  Here is a link to some great places near you, Shakespeare, Symphony, underground railroad, and at the bottom, it has links to other museums in the area, historical attractions, animal parks, etc.

    I try to link some of the trips to what we are studying, but if the kids go off on a tangent, I try to support that too, as well as following their individual interests.   My goal is to instill in them the love of learning and the tools to continue in this path their whole lives.
