  1. I*n the cricket field all important except your question.

  2. In cricket fielding, bowling and batting are important with proper planning

  3. I don't agree with this view.

It's true that fielding is of utmost importance in saving matches, especially when a team has a low total to defend, a superb fielding performance can win the match, even with an ordinary standard of bowling, but fielding isn't everything! To me, definitely batting and bowling gets the higher priority. Even after a brilliant catch being taken, if the bowlers start to bowl inconsistently, then the opposition batsmen would surely hit them out of the ground, and the match would eventually slip away. On the other hand, deliveries with accurate line and length from the bowler, can make the batsman struggle, and one superb delivery can knock out the wicket of the batsman, or get him out by LBW, without involving any effort from the fielders at all.

Similarly, if the batsmen do their job well to set a huge target, then the opposition would find it tough to chase it, even if the fielders fail to stop runs. But I do agree that good fielding boosts the confidence of the bowlers. Fielding is important, but not more than batting and bowling. Batting=bowling>>fielding.

  4. Excellent fielding should be the fundamental requirement for batsmen and bowlers. First they should be good fielders and then they should be drafted into teams.

  9. While catches wins matches and good fielding can save couple of runs, fielding is most important like good batting and good bowling.

  10. you've justified your answer well. But i don't agree.

Fielding is like speaking and walking, it's like the main thing every cricketer MUST be good at. Bowling and batting is like the occupation you choose to follow.

Bowling and batting is more important in my opinion.

  11. no

  12. All 3 are equally important!

What's the use of good fielding when the batsmen fail to deliver or the bowler keeps on bowling bad length deliveries??

Cricket is a team game and all aspects weigh equally for a team to perform well.

I though agree with your point that good fielding definitely lifts the spirits of all the players and makes them perform better.

  13. not at all...

cant a one big six help us to win a match...?

cant one brilliant ball help in taking a wicket and cant that help in winning the match...?

yes...i dont deny that fielding is important. I know that fielding is very very important and they help us to win a match but what i am trying to say is that everything...that is bowling, batting anf fielding are equally important and ppl have to work equally hard...

  14. i dont think so. bowling is more important than anything. how many times india loss the match because of one short bowler

  15. it never used to be years ago ,there was absolute awful fielding at test level itl make you laugh

    things have defo changed

  16. AGREED

  17. Every aspect of cricket is important to win a game.

Batting:, You need enough runs to challenge / outscore your opponent. Without runs, winning is a very difficult task.

Bowling: You need to be accurate enough and make the batsmen work hard to hit  the ball away & score  runs; and outfox them to get wickets. It is important for bowlers to bowl according to the field set for it. If you are giving away far too many freebies, there is no stopping the doom looming over you.

Fielding: Good fielding is an added advantage. A game cannot be won by fielding alone. If the bowler does not bowl well, all the fielder can do is fetch the ball from beyond the boundary line. When you are batting second, If there is not enough runs on board fielders cannot do anything to revert the situation. Fielding should back good performance from Batsmen & Bowlers. Fielders should not let  the team down, esp. the bowlers. If a bowler delivers a peach of a delivery and the outside edge is dropped by the fielder at slip, that's a shame. Catches win matches? I'm not sure about it. But dropping too many catches will result in dropping the match.
