Fifis Legend heading for success in the Ladbrokes Summer Festival Dogs 480 – Heat 2 at Monmore
The Ladbrokes Summer Festival Dogs 480 – Heat 2 will be hosted by Monmore over 480 metres flat on Monday, 18th June. Contesting for the £175 prize money are Frankbrunosbro, Graigues Orchard, Fifis Legend, Go Go Sonic, Vedfield Solid and Master
Mac.
The most promising entry for the race is Fifis Legend, Cashen Legend’s two-year-old fawn son out of b***h, Shakira Live. He turned out to be one of those rare hounds who prove their ability right at the beginning of the career. This one lined up his first
three races as successes and thus struck a hat trick.
He won the seasonal debut on 10th January at Monmore over 480 metres. He was done racing in 28.42 seconds and led the runner up, Penrhiw Guto, by 2 ¼ lengths.
His second leg of the hat trick came around on 21st January at Henlow over 460 metres by timing the track distance in 28.67 seconds and leading the runner up, Penrhiw Guto, by 1 ¾ lengths.
On 26th January he struck the hat trick by reaching the other end of a 460 metres race track in 27.69 seconds at Henlow. He took charge of the final four lengths and was soon followed by Millwards Boom.
After missing two races, the two-year-old was drilled 480 metres at Monmore on 14th February. It led to the fourth victory of the season for Fifis Legend. The next three races were failures despite a training session in between. The trainer, Chris
Allsopp, then thought the better of it and tuned the two-year-old twice at Monmore and over two different distances.
Till yet, the two races that came Fifis Legend’s way have been wins. He won a 480 metres race at Monmore on 28th May by making it to the other end in 28.31 seconds. He led the runner up, Sharp Bullet, by five lengths.
Striking a back to back, he won on 9th June at Monmore over 480 metres. This time he covered the distance in 28.28 seconds and kept the runner up, Wally Billy, adrift by 1 ¼ lengths.
His chances of striking a hat trick through today’s race are concrete.
