Fiftyfour Forever impresses all round and now installed as the favourite to win the NATC Futurity Fillies Division at Monmouth Park
The Monmouth Park’s feature race on 24 September, 2011, the $150,000 NATC Futurity Fillies Division, reels in a field of seven juvenile fillies, and it seems that the Anthony Quartarolo trained 2-year-old filly, Fiftyfour Forever, will be bringing her level
best at Monmouth Park.
The juvenile will break from the rail, and that’s all right, because Anthony Quartarolo worked well with the filly, and saw her coming out of the gate, impressing her trainer.
Quartarolo, who conditions the filly for owner Charles Palombini, said she was impressive getting out of the gates in her training session, flying away, and then it was time for her maiden race which she aced, matching the same speed.
The filly has appeared once for assessment, as she made her debut in a maiden claimer special on 27 August, 2011, at the Calder racecourse under jockey L Saez, over a distance of 5 furlongs which she completed in 1 minute and 0.61 seconds flat, defeating
Angel Dreams and One Wild Fire on the way.
Among the likely favourites to win the NATC Futurity Fillies Division is the Dale Romans trainee, My Due Process, who broke her maiden in her fourth attempt at Saratoga on 5 August, 2011, at about 5 ½ furlong.
The 2-year-old filly was tried on dirt in her last three attempts, but she was suited best on turf, blowing the distance in 1 minute and 2.85 seconds.
She made her next start on turf as well, running in the P. G Johnson Stakes on turf over a distance of 1 1/16 miles on 31 August, but she rolled in 6th on the day.
Fiftyfour Forever, after her maiden race, shipped north to Monmouth Park after a few weeks to work ahead of the NATC Futurity, where she worked on four furlongs on 18 September under jockey Elvis Trujillo. She was clocked in 50.60 seconds, much to her trainer’s
delight.
My Due Princess will be sent off as the 5 to 2 favourite, while Fiftyfour Forever is drawn just inside My Due Process, installed as the 7 to 2 morning line favourite.
