  1. Two different shows but I love Fight Quest more. They go straight to the roots of the art. I love Human Weapon because they show you how it works and why.

  2. Liked the exposure to other arts in their own habitats, rather than the sportified versions taught in the U.S., but the fact that the fighters only trained in them for a week was kind of stupid, as they were not going to pick up a whole lot of technique in that time.

Expecting them to then turn around and fight a top-notch fighter in that style at the end of 5 or 6 days was ridiculous.  I enjoyed watching the techniques of those stylists being used against the Americans during the training week, though!

  3. bothr good accept 4 that guy in fight quest, not the bold one the skinny wannabe mma guy, he is pathetic

  4. It's hard to choose between the two. I find Human Weapon -- the show and hosts -- to be more entertaining. However, I find that there is less nonsense in Fight Quest. Plus, I like that they train in the same place all week.

In every Human Weapon episode, there is a segment where some BS guy comes in to teach them something useless. Like, the double-monkey-uppercut or Wire-Fu for example. Also, whenever there is dubious information passed to them, the hosts just smile, nod, and (pretend to?) agree.

Fight Quest, on the other hand, seems to avoid the BS. Or, when it shows up, the hosts are quick to point it out. Also, they covered Boxing, which I was very happy about. How Human Weapon managed to neglect that, I just don't understand.

Overall, though Human Weapon is more entertaining and I'd prefer to watch that, it has a worse affect on people. I met far too many who think they know something about martial arts because they've watched that show. Even worse, some people believe the BS that's on it. Tsk tsk tsk.

But still, here's an awesome highlight of the Human Weapon show! I love it to this day.

  5. The most realistic was LAST ONE STANDING .Real fights between 6 athletes from around the world only one of which was a martial artist (a kick boxer)against ZULU STICK FIGHTERS MONGOLIAN WRESTLERS INDONESIAN SILAT  and various other wrestling kicking punching arts from SOUTH AMERICA to ASIA and back.

They lived in each community for a week as the people themselves do ate their kind of food etc. and trained with the local master to learn some skills then at the end fought full contact matches with local champions.

Who did the worst ?The kick boxer. He was fighting to win a match against people who still use their art to defend their lives. No contest.

  6. They both have their good points.

What I like about Fight Quest is that the hosts actually train(for five full days if I'm not wrong) before the final fight. But Jimmy and Doug are not very enjoyable to watch in my opinion.

Jason Chambers and Bill Duff are more enjoyable to watch but in most of the final fights the fighter almost always sticks to his own fighting style, rarely using any of the moves that they were taught. So I think they are really learning nothing because they're just learning a few moves and they usually do not use them in the final fights.

How about having Jason Chambers and Bill Duff host Fight Quest? I think that would be more enjoyable.
