  1. Instead of fighting gear, try investing in training gear.

Muay Thai pads are my personal favorite training tool.  They can be used for kicking, striking, defense, and countering, provided the feeder (that's the guy holding the pads) knows what he's doing.  I've attached a link to a video - not the greatest fighter, but they review a lot of technique that you can use.

Go ahead and spend enough to get some good pads - Throwdown/Title, Fairtex, Revgear all make good pads that I'v actually used, so I can recommend them.  There are lots of others - be prepared to spend $100 or so.

As far as drills, there are too many to detail, but you can get decent books at most libraries, or watch some videos of big-name fighters training - check out boxers, MMA/UFC fighters, kickboxers, etc.

All that said, I seriously recommend you find a school with a qualified trainer/coach.  A good coach can teach you the little things that make a fighter good - how/when to punch - inside fighting (clinch) which is really hard to see in videos - theory of fighting - and how to generate power / speed.  A good coach will asses your skills and help you develop your strengths as well as marginalize your weak points.

If you ever add grappling in to your training, a coach is even more important as hip position, technique, space, etc. are 10x more difficult to figure out on your own.

  2. Sounds like you and your friends have a bright future in politics, one could be the next president.

    good luck!

  3. Whatever you do pleas emake sure you video tape all of your training, and any true street fights you get into. I mean everything, the trip to the police station, hospital, or both, and don't forget the looks on your parents faces when they find out how much it is going to cost them for fines or medical bills.

If your ever allowed to do anything again, post the video's to you tube and put the links here, so we can use you as an aexample of what not to do the next time somebody posts a question like this. Oh yeah it will also give us a good laugh.

  4. If you want to really street fight, then get rid of the gloves and fight in alleys with broken glass on the ground.  This sounds more like a bunch of dumb kids who saw too many movies or watch too many Avatar cartoons.

  5. The father of modern Karate Funakoshi once said

"When punch thrown at face...Move face"

  6. draw a dot on a mirror and practice punching it.  DO NOT ACTUALLY HIT THE MIRROR this will get you hand eye coodination.  then do the same to a board that is palnted firmly in the ground, Hit the dot on the board.  Do this as long as you will be fightiing

  7. Focus on improving your spelling and grammar first.  You shouldn't be taking any more punches to the head.

  8. You can always learn from the Internet or movies

I would perfer some boxing dodges like moving your face

or you can always block it with your forearms
