Fighters love rejecting Glover Teixeira – UFC News
Light heavyweight contender Glover Teixeira surely stands among the best in the business. However, the problem with him proving his worth is that no other fighter wants to fight him. Some say he is dangerous while some blame the organisation for making last
minute decisions that eventually leads to rejection for Glover.
Recently, it was former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans who declined a fight against Glover, blaming it on the UFC. Evans has always been a pain to President Dana White, and even this time he has left no stone unturned to put the entire blame of
White.
According to Evans, it was White who made a last minute call. He added that he needs at least two months to train for a fighter, which was not being allotted to him by the UFC.
“I will fight anybody with the proper notice.. But after 8yrs with the UFC & being one of their top earners. Y would I take a bad fight?! Bad fight meaning not being in shape. Losing is hard enough but I will never serve myself up! If I'm haven't been training
I won't fight!I know a lot of u fans may not realize but I don't walk around ready 2 fight. No one does. In this sport it takes at least 8wks 2 b ready! Fighting another person is much harder than most ppl think & if im not training it takes time 2 get ready.
There r no easy fights!” asserted Evans via his Twitter, after realising that his declination to face Glover might have grave implications on the way fans perceive him.
Glover currently stands with 18 wins and 2 losses in his portfolio. Unfortunately, he has not faced any top level fighter in the UFC yet. But that is not his fault. Every time the organisation tries to hook him up against an elite fighter, something or the
other happens, which leads to a cancellation.
As of now, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson has agreed to fight Teixeira. Glover should be thankful to the UFC for hooking him up against a top-level fighter. There is no doubt about the fact that Glover indeed is one of the best in the UFC, but can he prove it
against Jackson?
