Question:

Fighting Experian Credit report?

I have been fighting Experian about inaccurate information on my credit report for months. I have disputed these things online and have send them paper work in the mail proving they are wrong. I always get the same response from them saying they have verified the information to be true. My Experian credit score is 70 points less than Trans. and Equifax! How can I fight Experian? I can't afford an attorney and they are killing my credit score. HELP!!

  1. you have done all you can do on your own -- sounds like a catch-22 situation  -- either get a lawyer or let time take care of your problem!!!

  2. If this is for a debt you don't believe you truly owe, you have the right to force the collection agency to prove you owe the debt. Debt validation is your federal right granted under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  Generally, if the debt collector, does not respond to your requests for validation, it must be removed from your credit reports.  When you send your validation request, you should send it via certified mail with return receipt requested. You can use the return receipt as proof your letter was received by the debt collector. Wait 30 days. If the collection agency doesn't send you proof that the debt is yours, you can resubmit your dispute to Experian with copies of your validation letters and your certified mail receipts.    Sometimes the collection agency  doesn't bother to respond, or they voluntary remove it from your credit reports because it isn't worth the hassle to them.
