Question:

Fighting gang?

Where do you guys (you know who you are) live that there are roving gangs, two score strong, walking around beating people up? What city? What street? What time of day? Why are they targeting you personally? Why are you trying to deal with them (30+ guys) with a martial art instead of a gun? Why do you bring your concerns about this problem you seem to have to yahoo answers instead of the police? Why are you calling out members who are trying to give you good advice and bashing them? I doubt I'll get answers to this question from my target audience, so members previously targeted feel free to guess at the answers.

  1. I honestly do not know, I wish I did seeing as I am the main target right now of two trolls or one person with two accounts. I have never heard of getting jumped by all the spectators from trying to walk away from a fight. Never seen anything like it on the news. I have seen reports where an actual fight turned into a miny riot, but never somebody walking away from it.

I honestly feel sorry for them, because their lives must be pretty pathetic to have to resort to stuff like this for entertainment. Yes I am on here a lot, but I find a lot of useful information, and I also like to answer questions from my perspective, and try and undo some of the damage done by many people that answer that have no clue. Not saying my answers will always be right for the asker, but maybe they can help somebody out.

I also never claimed to be the know it all that the trolls imply I am. Yes I have a lot of knowledge, but there are many on here with much more experiance then me, and many times it makes me reevaluate or test my thinking when I read there answers.

If people do not like my answers they should  not ask questions they do not want honest answers to, or opinions that may differ from theirs. I love different opinions and viewpoints then my own, from people that actually have a clue. They help me grow and adapt and change, which should be one of the goals of any true martial artist.

  2. they problably want to feel like there tuff, picking on on people with weapons is wrong.

  3. well im not in a gang but some of my "friends" are. they're lil punks who can only fight in numbers, they're usually poor so they take other peoples things and sell them. almost any decent martial artist could beat up 1 or 2 of them but they usually travel in groups.

  4. Not sure about some of those question but to walk around and beat people up is sissy c**p. Seriosuly. If you're tough, fight some one 1 on 1 and no jumoing someone. Guns make you even more of a sissy.  Theres nothing wrong with a fist fight, but beating someone up for no reason is wrong. That guy probably has to go to work the next day with his face beat in, not to mention going home to see his kids and tell them what happened. Fighting gangs are all weak. If you want to be a fighter, then train to be and do it right

  5. It's part of the world of Internet rants and martial arts superman myths.

It comes with the territory. Best to roll your eyes and move on.

  6. As a teenager I spent some time in the rougher parts of Jersey City N.J., and never saw any of that c**p. There were gangs and street fights and rumbles frequently yet if you kept a low profile and minded your own business you were mostly left alone. I had a friend jumped one time by two guys and a girl once they cut him up a little, it was to rob him though and his body language was bad and his street sense was non existent. When you live in that environment you either are a part of the violence or you avoid it there is no middle ground. Sometimes bystanders get hurt; that is usually random and the exception rather than the rule.

My Sifu is a former gang member from L.A. before going into the military and he would have given the same advice as Katana.  So where is the beef? I think if you go around with a chip on your shoulder there are always plenty who are more than happy to knock it off for you.

  7. what the P***k are you on about?

  8. I'm backing katana up 100% on this.  He gives well thought out, intelligent answers.  I may not agree with him all the time, but that is normal (and very beneficial to both of us, and everyone else)

I am sure that there are areas with this kind of violence, but those are mostly 3rd world countries, so Internet access isn't really an easy thing to come by.

Trolls are a drawback to any forum.  They exist in all of them.  I just try to ignore them and hope they lose interest.
